UAE: Abu Dhabi Labour Court moves to new headquarters

New office built on an area of 7,572 square metres at a cost of Dh72 million The Abu Dhabi Labour Court has been relocated to its new headquarters in Mussafah (Sector 34), the Abu Dhabi Judicial Department (ADJD) has announced.
The new office was built on an area of 7,572 square metres at a cost of Dh72 million, as part of the continuous development efforts to serve the integrated judicial services system.
Youssef Saeed Al Abri, Undersecretary of the ADJD, confirmed that the completion of the Abu Dhabi Labour Court building is an addition to the accomplished judicial system and ensures universal access to services, to lay down an integrated programme that facilitates workers’ access to justice and obtaining their rights that are guaranteed by the UAE laws and in accordance with international standards.
Covid-19: India seeks to boost vaccine production; Jaishankar likely to visit US next week

A report suggested that US manufacturers were keen that India opt for centralised procurement of vaccines.
Even as domestic Indian producers of the Covid vaccines announce plans to boost production to meet the growing demands in the country, External affairs minister S. Jaishankar is visiting the US next week to discuss procurement of the vaccines from top American producers.
Reports on Friday said Jaishankar is likely to meet top executives from Pfizer, Moderna and Johnson & Johnson to ensure availability of the vaccines to meet the widening gap between demand and supply. Domestic production has dropped sharply impacting the administration of vaccines from 3.66 million a day in mid-April to 1.48 million now.
Saudi Arabia: Overseas pilgrims to be allowed to perform Haj this year

Authorities announced that the pilgrimage in 2021 will be held with strict Covid safety measures in place.
Overseas pilgrims will be allowed to perform Haj this year, it was announced on Thursday.
According to the Saudi Gazette, the ritual pilgrimage will be open to all in the 2021 season with strict Covid safety measures in place.
The announcement comes after the Kingdom’s Ministry of Hajj and Umrah said on May 9 that it would be going ahead with this year’s pilgrimage.
The ministry also said that it would release the specific measures to be undertaken at a later date.
William and Harry vent criticism of journalist, BBC over deceitful Diana interview

Princes William and Harry on Thursday hit out at the BBC and journalist Martin Bashir over the deceitful way Bashir obtained an explosive TV interview with their mother Princess Diana in which she detailed her troubled marriage to Prince Charles.
Their stinging criticism came hours after an independent internal inquiry found Bashir had used falsified documents to get his sensational 1995 sit-down with Diana, and that BBC leaders had failed to adequately probe how he had arranged it.
